A recently published perspective in Value-Based Cancer Care criticized the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Evidence Blocks initiative. Regrettably, that perspective is extremely misleading and is full of innuendo and misuse of statistics.
There is an urgent unmet need for more effective therapies in pancreatic cancer. The American Cancer Society estimated that approximately 49,000 new cases of pancreatic cancer will be diagnosed in the United States in 2015, and more than 40,500 people will die from this cancer. Pancreatic cancer is the fourth most common cause of cancer deaths in the United States.
The certification through portfolio process can be used to promote the rheumatology nurse’s professional development and performance, said Sheree C. Carter, PhD, RN, at the 2015 Annual Conference of the Rheumatology Nurses Society (RNS).
